CHAPTER 9:

We arrived at my house a couple minutes later and luckily we were there early and my cousins still weren’t home. I quickly ran into my room and changed my clothes into sweats and a tank top before my cousins recognized me from the concert.

“What are we going to do?” Ariel asked.
“What are we going to do about what?” he asked as he sat on the last step of the stairs that led to the top door. (I live in a basement remember)
“We won these passes to go to a Halloween party with the Jonas Brothers and other dc stars,” Peyton answered.
“But I can’t go” I added.
“Oh man” he replied as he walked over to my bed.
“What can we do?” Ariel asked.
“Honestly I have no idea but I just spoke to my mom and she said she was on her way home” he replied.
“Then I guess you guys are going to have to go without me” I suggested.
“But Is” Peyton protested.
“I’m sorry you guys but there’s nothing we can do” I answered.
“I’ll try to think of something but in the mean time you guys have to leave before my mom gets home,” he said.
“Call me ok” Ariel said as she headed towards the stairs.
“Alright bye” I replied.
“Bye” Peyton said as she walked up the steps.
“Thanks Edward” Ariel said as she turned around and began walking up the steps.
“Ariel wait!” he said and she stopped. “You look very pretty,” he said and she turned around and flashed him a smile.
“Bye” she said and she turned around, ran up the steps and out of my room.

*JOE’S POV*
After the concert, we went back to the hotel to get ready for the party. As always, I was the last to finish getting ready. I decided to go dressed as Aladdin since it’s one of my favorite Disney movies and no one else would think of it. I came out of the bathroom and saw Kevin dressed as Prince Charming and Nick dressed as Peter Pan. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“What’s so funny?” Kevin asked looking at me confused.
“You guys are wearing tights,” I said as I continued laughing.
“At least we’re wearing clothes,” Nick stated.
“Yea dude were are your shoes and your shirt?” Kevin added.
“I’m Aladdin and he doesn’t wear shoes or a shirt just a vest” I replied.
“Ok the vest thing I understand but he does wear shoes” Nick corrected me.
“No he doesn’t and I would know because he’s my favorite Disney character,” I answered smartly.
“Yea he does Joe. He wears those slipper things with the pointed front,” Kevin stated.
“Uh” I began to think. “Omg that’s right he does,” I said feeling stupid. “Let’s stop at the costume store again on our way to the party”
“Alright but let’s go because it’s about to close” he said as he grabbed his keys and walked out of the hotel room.

Nick and I followed.

*EDWARD’S POV*
Not long after Ariel and Peyton, left my mom arrived with my sisters.

“Hey mom” I said as she entered.
“Hello Edward” she replied.
“Omg guess what?” Victoria yelled as she entered.
“What?” I asked not really caring.
“We won passes to go to a Halloween costume party with the Jonas Brothers,” Juliet answered.
“Cool when is it?” I asked even though I knew the answer. It was tonight.
“In an hour at ten” Victoria replied.
“Oh that’s great,” I said then I suddenly thought of something. “Are you going?”
“Of coarse we are!” Juliet yelled.
“I meant you mom,” I said looking at her.
“No I’m going to go out to the club but I’ll be home by twelve” she replied.
“Ok well have fun,” I stated.
“Now girls go put on your costumes and let’s go,” she said towards the girls totally ignoring what I said.

They walked away and went into their rooms and I quickly snuck away into Isabella’s room.

“Ok I have news for you,” I said as I entered her room, closed the door behind me and flew down the steps.
“What?” she asked sitting up from her bed.
“Call Ariel you’re going to the party” I blurted out.
“Omg what? How?” she asked.
“Call Ariel and put her on speaker and I’ll explain it to you both”
“Ok” she said as she reached for her phone and quickly dialed Ariel’s number.

“Hello” Ariel answered.
“El, Edward just came in and told me that I can go to the party,” Isabella explained.
“Ah!! Omg How?” she yelled.
“I don’t know but he’s here right now to explain it so listen,” Isabella said as she put the phone on the bed and motioned for me to speak.
“Ok well my sisters are going to the same Halloween party you guys are going to. Seems like they both won tickets and my mom is going out to the club. She told me that she won’t be back till twelve sharp,” I explained.
“But they’re going to see me” Isabella said with a worried look on her face.
“Not if I can prevent that” Ariel replied.
“How?” we asked.
“Just leave it up to me to find a good costume,” she said.
“Alright so the party starts at ten right?” I asked to make sure.
“Yeah” they both replied at the same time.
“Ok so you have two hours I’m sorry that’s all I can get you” I apologized.
“It’s better than nothing” Isabella replied.
“Don’t worry Eddie we’ll have her back by midnight” did Ariel just call me Eddie.
“Perfect” I said.
“Well I’m going to leave now to go pick you up so we can go get costumes,” Ariel said.
“But they haven’t left yet” Isabella replied.
“I’ll park around the corner until they leave” Ariel explained.
“We’ll call you,” I said.
“Alright then see you in a little bit,” she said and then she clicked.
“Omg thank you Edward,” Isabella said as she jumped off her bed and onto me as she hugged me.
“It’s no problem”
“How can I ever repay you?” she asked as she jumped off me but stayed hugging me.
“Oh trust me you’re doing enough” and really she was by just having Ariel around.
“Edward” she said pulling away. “You really like her don’t you?” she asked and I was confused.
“Who?” I asked.
“You know who. Ariel” she said looking at me.
“No. What makes you think that?” I asked and I quickly looked down to the ground.
“Look at me” she said with one hand on my chin as she slowly lifted my face to meet hers. “I can see it in your eyes. Every time you look at her and every time you hear her voice or whenever she’s mentioned” she said as she gently rubbed my cheek.
“Is it that obvious?” I asked in a low whisper.
“I don’t know if anyone notices it but I do,” she answered.
“Oh but either way it doesn’t matter no one ever notices me especially a beautiful girl like” I said looking down again. She began to giggle. “What?” I asked confused.
“You know Edward you never give yourself the credit you deserve. You’re much better than you think and you don’t see that but I do”
“If only she did,” I whispered.
“She will but cheer up please because now you’re putting me down” she said and I looked up to her eyes a little sad.
“Alright now let me go check on my mom and my sisters,” I said and I turned around and headed towards the stairs.
“I love you, you know that right?” she asked me and I stopped but didn’t turn around. She was the only one who ever said those words to me and it always made me sad because not even my mom or my sisters said that.
“As do I as if you were another sister sometimes even more,” I whispered loud enough for her to hear as I held back tears.

I walked up the steps and out of her room. As I walked into the living room and sat on the couch, my mom came out of her room.

“Girls let’s go!” she yelled.

Juliet was the first to come out of her room. She was dressed as Marilyn Monroe. She was wearing a white wig and white heels with a white dress. She looked really pretty. Victoria came out a couple seconds later dressed as a witch. Not the ones you see in movies with the big green noses and a mole. She was the more modern witch. She was wearing a black dress with black heels. She was also wearing some stockings you know the ones with the holes I think they’re called nets or fishnets and she had her light brown hair loose under her witch hat. Both my sisters looked pretty.

“Ok we’re ready mom,” Victoria said.
“Alright let’s go,” she said walking towards the front door. “Um bye Edward we’ll be back by twelve,” she yelled as they walked out.

I listened until I heard the car start up. Then I heard them pull out of the driveway and then the sounds of the car fade away as they drove off. I stepped outside to make sure they were gone and then I called Ariel.

*ring* she answered on the first ring.

“Hello” she answered.
“Alright they’re gone” I replied.
“Ok I’m pulling into the driveway,” she said.
“Alright bye” I said and clicked. “Isabella!” I yelled and I heard her run up the step and out of her room. “Plans are in motion,” I said and Ariel walked through the door with Peyton behind her.
