*KEVIN’S POV*
“Who is she?” I asked the girl that stepped out of the crowd. She looked so familiar.
“I am” said the girl that followed behind her. She was a bit taller than the girl who stepped out first but you could see the resemblance. She had light skin with green eyes and long light brown hair straight down to her waist. She did look like Joanna.
“Joanna?” I asked slowly.
“Yea Kevin it’s me I’m sorry I ran out on you last night,” she said in a low tone loud enough for me to hear.
“Why did you leave without saying anything?” I asked convinced that it was her.
“I was embarrassed when I fell to the ground in front of everyone my only instinct was to run,” she explained.
“I ran out after you and you were gone so I set up flyers and I guess that worked cause here you are,” I said happily to finally have found her.
“Yeah I realized how much fun we had last night so I decided to show up again,” she said with a smile. Something about her reminded me of Joanna but something about her seemed so off.
“How about we have more fun tonight?” I suggested. “It’s my last night in Florida and I want to have fun,” I added.
“When then how about I show you a fun night in Miami,” she suggested.
“It’s a date,” I said and she smiled.
“I’ll give you my number so that you can call me,” she said as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone.
“And I’ll give you mine” I said as I reached for my phone and handed it to her.
“You can bring your brothers if you want. I’m pretty sure they’ll want to see the real Miami on their last night as well,” she said as she put her number in my phone.
“I’ll ask them” I replied as I handed her back her phone with my number saved in it. “I’ll call you and let you know what time I’ll pick you up. Text me the address” I explained.
“I’ll be waiting,” she answered smiling.
“I should get back to autographs and I have a friend waiting for-” I turned around and stopped talking when I realized Is was gone. “She was waiting for me,” I added and Joanna giggled.
“See you later,” she said as she waved and walked away.
My brothers agreed to take the night out around town with Joanna and I. The rest of the day, I continued to sign autographs and I was somewhat relieved that I had found Joanna. It was a lot easier than I thought it would. A little too easy kind of. She was really nice but something about her seemed different. Maybe I shouldn’t have given her my number so quick and so easily. But what was I to lose? She seemed sweet and kind and she was pretty. She even had the green eyes Joanna had last night under the beautiful mask she was wearing. After a while of thinking about whether or not I made the right decision, I decided to take a break and walk a bit. I walked my way over to Miller Music. I needed to decide whether it was right or not to trust Joanna so quick and music always helped me solve my problems. Plus, it was an excuse to see Is again. Something about her made me feel good. Something about her just felt right. She was different from any other girl. She wasn’t crazy obsessed over me or my brothers. She was actually the complete opposite. She didn’t know about us which kind of bothered me and at the same time attracted me to her. It made me want to know more about her. She was like a closed mystery book that wasn’t so easy to open up and read and I liked it. I wanted to talk to her to get to know her more as a person and a friend. She was very interesting. She was one of a kind, unique. And she wasn’t a total drag queen/bitch like my girlfriend Brooke. Speaking of whom I’m surprised hasn’t seen the news and blown up my phone to call and scream at me. I actually haven’t spoken to her since the day I met Is on Thursday the day before yesterday. Who knows whom she was too busy making out with and doing who knows what. She was always too busy for me her boyfriend. I was sick of it but I just couldn’t pull myself away from her.
I walked right into Miller Music to see the two girls Joe and Nick spent their night with last night walking up to Is. What were their names? Ariel and Peyton that’s right. They were very nice girls and Joe and Nick seemed to think so too. As far I know they both got numbers and Joe even got a kiss. As I entered, I immediately turned to my right and looked for where the guitars were. I saw the big sign that read “Guitar Room” and I immediately walked over there. I didn’t want to intrude on their conversation. I’d talk to her later when I got the chance. I headed towards the room in the far back and situation myself with an acoustic Paul Gibson guitar and just began to strum chords.
*ISABELLA’S POV*
After about an hour of waiting and pacing back and forth impatiently, Ariel and Peyton finally returned. I couldn’t help to see Kevin sneak into the store and head towards the guitar room.
“Okay what happened? What did you find?” I questioned impatiently as they walked up to me.
“Nothing” Ariel simply said as she leaned over the counter.
“Huh?” I asked confused.
“We didn’t find anything. The box was in the far back, it was folded crossed-like just like you said, and I opened it to see the crown and the mask perfectly in tact. Nothing was missing,” she explained.
“Then I don’t get it” I said more to myself than to them.
“Maybe you’re just overreacting. Are you sure you heard right?” she asked.
“Yes I’m positive,” I told them.
“Then I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe they lied about knowing who she was. I mean doesn’t Virginia like obsess over Kevin” she informed.
“Yeah she does,” I said remembering how much she loves him.
“Then there you go she lied. That’s the only explanation I could tell you right now,” she said.
“I think I know how to find out” I said as I looked over to the guitar room.
“How?” they both asked together.
“I’ll ask Kevin himself”
“What?” Peyton spoke up this time.
“He’s in the guitar room and I know him remember he gave me the tickets,” I explained. “I’ll just walk over there and ask him”
“Good luck” Peyton said.
“I’ll call with the details later,” I said and they turned to leave.
“Later” they both said before walking out.
I slowly made my way around the counter and slowly headed over to the guitar room in the back. I walked up to the glass window that was available for you to see the guitars before deciding to enter. He was sitting with his back facing me. His curly hair moved slowly and he strummed the strings of the acoustic guitar he was holding in his hands. I think it was a Paul Gibson. I just stood there admiring the way he held the guitar so gently and he played with the strings and made music. After a while, I decided to silently open the door to hear the music that flowed through the room because the room was sound proof. I quietly opened the door and slid into the room to hear him humming a nice tune. Then I heard the words.
Leaders, show us how to love each other
It could help us to recover
Love is on its way
Lonely, I believe that you will find me
And together we will truly see that love is on its way
So hold on another day
Cause love is on its way
You'll find it's gonna be ok
Cause love is on its way
Its alright you'll find a brighter day cause love is on its way
Then he stopped.
“Who am I kidding?” he said to himself. “She will never love me back”
