CHAPTER 18:

I immediately clicked. Who was that? I decided to call back and find out.

“Hello” he answered again a little frustrated.
“Who is this?” I asked immediately.
“Jack who’s this?” he returned the question.
“Kevin. Why do you have Brooke’s phone?” I questioned.
“I woke up and she was asleep next to me and I heard her phone ring so I answered, who are you anyways Kevin?” he explained.
“Nobody what are you doing with her?” I asked nervously afraid to hear the answer.
“I honestly don’t remember we went out together last night and got drunk and ended up in her apartment I can’t tell you anymore,” he explained. “Sorry” he added.
“Well when your little girlfriend wakes up tell her that her boyfriend called her” I replied and then clicked only to hear him yell ‘what!’

That’s it for us and I meant it this time. She was drunk with another guy and probably slept with him. I'm not going to stand here like an idiot and pretend that I'm blind and that I don’t see the pain she’s causing me. Later on that day she called me and asked me to meet, her somewhere and I decided now was the time to end things.

“Hi Kevin thanks for meeting me here” she said as I took a seat on the bench beside her. She had invited me to a park she thought we could talk better here.
“Yea what did you need to tell me?” I jumped to the purpose I was here.
“Kevin I'm sorry” she apologized.
“Oh yea now you’re sorry but you don’t understand the pain I’ve gone through because of you all the suffering the heartbreak all because of your stupidity and immaturity. I can’t take it anymore. I am not going to just stand here and watch you sleep with other men. That’s not me anymore. I'm done with it and I'm done with you. I mean isn’t that what you wanted to get me out of your life so that you could be free to do other things”
“Kevin listen,” she begged.
“No you listen,” I said sternly. “I'm done playing your stupid games. I never wanted things to be this way but this is what you looked for. Don’t look for me or call me or anything just forget I ever existed and I’ll forget all the pain that this relationship caused me” I turned and walked away.
“Kevin” she begged and I turned back.
“And to think I actually wanted to marry you. I wanted to spend my life with you,” I half laughed at how crazy the idea seemed now.
“I wanted that too Kev” she said through tears.
“Oh please don’t come to me with that *beep* Brooke you don’t know what you want,” I yelled.
“I want you Kevin and only you,” she sobbed.
“Yea right do you seriously believe that?” I questioned and she looked down. “Exactly”
“I do,” she said
“Call me when you believe it yourself”
“But I do only want you” she repeated.
“Bye Brooke go lie to someone else” I said and walked away forever.

I got into my car and drove away without even bothering to look back, I was so hurt yet relieved. I really hoped all this heartbreak was over and done with. I arrived home only to stay seated behind the wheel as I let all the emotions flow out. I cried like a baby but I was finally free. Maybe I could find the real girl that made me feel so special that night at the Halloween party in Florida. I know now Joanna wasn’t her she was too opposite of her. She was nothing like the Joanna I met at the party. I got off the car and entered the house to be stared at by Nick and Joe. I told them everything that went down at the park and they were proud of me. They were also disappointed that I took so long to do it.

*ISABELLA’S POV*
Today was thanksgiving and of course, I had to work. I couldn’t wait till the day I would be able to leave. Secretly I was saving my money from working so much to one day just pick up and leave. I would meet up with Lucas and we would live together and study together until we graduated and made enough money to go our separate ways. That was the plan and continued to be the plan until today. I was on my way home from work when I got a phone call from Ariel it was about 7pm.

“Hey girl was sup,” I answered.
“Is” she answered hysterically crying.
“Ariel what’s wrong?” I asked worriedly.
“It’s… It’s” she hesitated. “It’s Lucas,” she finally said.
“What’s wrong with Lucas?” I asked impatiently.
“Is” she began to cry more.
“Ariel tell me what the hell is wrong with Lucas” I yelled.
“His plane crashed” she replied.
“What plane what are you talking about?” I asked confusedly.
“He was coming down for thanksgiving he wanted to surprise you but something happened to the plane and it crashed before landing,” she explained between sobs.
“Is he Ok?” I asked.
“They just found his body he’s burned really badly and they’re taking him in the ambulance to the hospital” she replied.
“What hospital?” I asked as tears filled my eyes.
“I don’t know they’re going to call us as soon as they find out” she said.
“I'm driving into my driveway let me get a couple things and I’ll head over there to your house okay,” I said as tears fell from my eyes.
“Hurry I don’t think he’s going to make it” she added as she began to cry hysterically again.
“Don’t think like that I know you’re brother he’s strong he’ll make it” I replied between sobs as I made my way through the front door.
“Hurry” she said and then she clicked.

I ran down the steps into my bedroom and saw that my computer screen was flashing.

Rockstar550:It’s not your fault things like this just always seem to happen to me but I gotta go I want to be with him the last few minutes.

Rockstar550:No it won’t now I really have to go

I didn’t wait for him to reply. I got up from the computer grabbed a jacket and an umbrella. It had started to pour while I was talking to Ariel and I didn’t even notice. I ran up the stairs, got into my car, and sped off to Ariel’s house.

*JOE’S POV*

She didn’t reply. I signed off and ran into Kevin’s room only he could help me.
