CHAPTER 7:

I woke up the next day as usual and did the usual routine. Even though it was October 31st, Halloween, and my 20th birthday, I still had to go to work. I entered the store and went to the cash register to open up. I was working for two hour already when I saw Peyton and Ariel walk into the store.

“Hey Is! Happy Birthday!” they yelled.
“Thanks” I said as they came up to me and gave me a hug.
“So what do you have planned for today?” Ariel asked pulling out of our hug.
“This is it” I shrugged.
“Work? Come on let’s go do something” she said.
“I can’t El I have to work and you know that” I replied.
“All you do is work! Don’t you ever get a break?”
“Nope never but I’m used to it” I said.
“You need a day off to do something fun like go to a concert or something”
“Speaking about that” I said remembering something. “I have something for you two” I said as I reached into my back pocket and pulled out an envelope.
“What?”
“Here” I said as I handed it to her.
“Omg they’re Jonas Brothers’ tickets and their front row!!” she said in complete shock as she stared at the tickets with her eyes popping out of her sockets.
“What? Jonas Brothers? Front row?” Peyton yelled and questioned.
“I know and I want for you to have them” I said.
“How did you get these? They’ve been sold out for months!” Ariel asked.
“It doesn’t matter I can’t go anyways” I replied with a sad tone.
“But it’s your birthday” Ariel commented.
“But I can’t go” I said.
“Why not?” I heard a familiar voice ask and I turned around to see Edward.
“You heard your mom yesterday she said that I couldn’t go I had to work” I replied to him.
“She also asked that if you were gone who was going to be here” he said.
“Yea and no one else will because your sisters are going to the concert and everyone knows your mom never works so I can’t go”
“But I’m free Is”
“But your mom-” he cut me off.
“Don’t worry about her she won’t know” he said.
“But I don’t have anything to wear” I said looking down.
“Leave that to me” Ariel said. “I didn’t know what to get you so I was going to take you out but instead I’ll buy you an outfit for tonight”
“I want to help” Peyton offered and I looked at Edward.
“Go” he simply said nodding his head towards the door.
“But what if my aunt comes?” I asked.
“She went shopping with my sisters at the other mall so they won’t be by here for another two hours” he informed me. “Go get whatever you need to get and be back before she returns”
“What about later?” I asked.
“We’ll figure that out then but for now go. Times running out” he said.
“Thanks” I said as I pulled him into a tight hug.
“It’s the least I can do” he said as we pulled away.
“I owe you one” I said as I walked towards the door that lead into the mall.
“And Isabella” he said as I stopped and turned around. “Happy birthday” he said and I flashed him a smile and continued walking.

I couldn’t believe what just happened. It was one thing for him to wish me a happy birthday but this was over the top. We walked through the mall and entered many stores but noticed seemed to call Ariel and Peyton’s attention. We had an hour left when we came across a store that had an outfit on display on the window that made but Ariel and Peyton stop dead in their shoes. It was a pair of green skinny jeans a white tank top a green vest and green and white chucks. I loved it green was my favorite color and they both seemed to like the outfit too cause they both dragged me inside to try it on. When I came out of the dressing room they both looked at me wide-eyed.

“I love it!” Peyton yelled.
“Yea it’s so…I don’t know it just so stands out and it’s so you” Ariel said. She loved colors that stood out. “I think I might get myself an outfit like that but in red”
“Thanks” I said. “And I think you should it would look really great on you”

I stood there looking at myself meanwhile Peyton went to look at clothes and Ariel went to try on her outfit.

“That’s look really nice” I heard a voice say and I turned around to see a boy with dark brown straight hair a little below his ear. He was light skinned with light eyes.
“Thanks” I said feeling awkward event though he was really cute.
“It stands out” he said.
“You look familiar” I said looking at him carefully.
“I’m…whoa!” he said and I was confused. I turned around and noticed that he was staring at Ariel.
“How does it look?” she asked as she twirled around looking at herself in the mirror.
“It looks awesome” I said. “And he seems to really-“I stopped when I turned around and noticed he was gone.
“Huh?” she said confused.
“He was standing right here” I said looking around.
“Who?” she asked.
“I don’t know”
“OooooK” she said real slowly as if I was crazy.
“We better get going before Nicole gets back” I said.

We paid for the stuff we got and quickly rushed back to the store. I couldn’t get that guy out of my mind. He looked so familiar. We arrived at the store with ten minutes to spare.

“Here take the bags” I said handing them to Ariel.
“So what’s the plan?” she asked me.
“Um Edward?” I said looking at him.
“OK well the concert starts at?” he asked.
“Seven” Peyton answered.
“It’s five” he said after looking at his watch. “Well my sisters have to go get ready and they’re going to leave sooner. They don’t have front row tickets so you don’t have to worry about them seeing you. Just try to get back here a.s.a.p. before they do. I’ll let you know when you can go get ready”
“Thanks Edward I really appreciate everything your doing for me”
“It’s the least you deserve. It’s not right what they do to you. The way they treat you and everything. One day wouldn’t kill anyone and today’s your 20th birthday so go have fun” he replied sweetly.
“That’s really sweet of you Edward” she said and he blushed. You could tell he really liked her.
“I see them. They’re headed this way” she said as she stood there looking out the glass window of the store.
“We better go. Call me we’ll be walking around” she said as she turned around and left.

Not long after they left Nicole and my cousins Virginia and Juliet came barging into through the doors.
