*KEVIN’S POV*
We arrived minutes later at the costume store. We arrived just in time. We had ten minutes until the store closed, ten minutes until the party started and ten minutes until I saw Is. As we entered, something caught my eye. It was white with silver rhinestones around the edges and it glittered in the light. It was on display underneath the glass that covered the counter. Joe quickly found what he came to look for as I stayed admiring the beautiful object underneath the glass.
“Come on Kev I already got what I needed let’s go” Joe said as he finished paying.
“Come on we’re going to be late,” Nick said as he walked up behind me.
“What are you looking at?” Joe asked as he walked up next to me. “Wow that’s really nice,” he said looking into the glass.
“Yeah its nice now can we please go!” Nick rushed.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” I asked annoyed by his eagerness to leave.
“I just want to go already” he replied.”
“Yeah sure uhuh” Joe said now looking up from the glass.
“No seriously” I said looking up from the glass and at Nick.
“Ok well remember yesterday at the beach I was like way out of it?” he asked.
“Yea bro you were like in another world” Joe replied.
“Well its cause I saw this girl and she was just wow you know like out of this world,” he explained.
“Uhuh” Joe said signaling Nick to continue.
“Well she was at the concert today. She was sitting in the front row and she looked beautiful,” he said with a smile.
“Was she the girl you chose?” I asked.
“No the girl I chose was sitting further back and she was nothing compared to the girl I saw. Her name was Peyton,” he continued.
“You’ve talked to her?” I asked.
“No” he said.
“Then how do you know her name?” Joe asked curiously.
“I heard them calling her yesterday at the beach,” he answered.
“Oh Ok now back to the story. So, she wasn’t the girl you chose?” Joe said very interested in the story.
“No I chose some random girl”
“Why didn’t you choose her?” I asked.
“Honestly...I have no idea why” he said.
“Ok weird” Joe said slowly.
“Tell me about it,” Nick said looking down.
“So why are you in a hurry then?” I asked still wondering why he’s in such a hurry.
“She’s going to the party with us,” he said looking up and smiling.
“How?” Joe asked.
“Well you wouldn’t believe this but mom gave her a pass,” he explained.
“What?” I asked surprised.
“Mom?” Joe asked surprised as well.
“I know I was shocked and confused too but mom said that she was watching her from the concert started and she liked her and that she also saw the way I watched her so she chose her” he explained some more.
“That’s great” I replied.
“I know so can we please go I want to be there when she arrives,” he asked.
“Alright then let’s go” I said as we turned around and headed out the door.
*ISABELLA’S POV*
We arrived at the costume store a couple minutes later and the man in the shop was closing up.
“That’s it were too late” I said worriedly.
“No we’re not,” Ariel said as she parked the car in front of the store.
“Yes, we are El he’s locking the doors. Now how am I going to find a costume?” I said.
“Just get out of the car and come on,” Peyton said as she opened the door and climbed out of the car.
“But he’s closed” I yelled through the closed car doors.
“Don’t worry let’s go” Ariel said as she climbed out the car and closed the door. I did the same.
“Mr. Dave it’s us Peyton and Ariel Davis” she yelled as she knocked on the window.
“Hi girls how can I help you?” he yelled from the other side of the window.
“We need to get costumes” Ariel replied.
“Girls I’m closed already sorry” he replied with guilt in his voice.
“Please Mr. Dave you’re our last hope. We promise we won’t take long,” Peyton begged.
“Alright fine but please make it quick,” he said as he searched for his keys.
He unlocked the door and let us in. We looked around for costumes but I couldn’t find anything I liked. I went to stand by the counter while the girls modeled the costumes they chose. Ariel came out of the dressing room dressed as a gypsy. She looked really pretty.
“That’s a keeper,” I said as I put two thumbs up.
Then Peyton came out. She was dressed as Tinkerbell and she looked super cute.
“Love it” Ariel commented her.
“Me too” I agreed.
“So this one then?” she asked.
“Yeah” I replied.
“What about you Is?” Ariel asked me.
“I couldn’t find anything,” I simply told them.
“With all the costumes here you couldn’t find anything?” Peyton asked.
“I guess you guys have to go without me” I said as I turned around and looked into the glass counter.
“No way! You are going to find a costume!” Ariel demanded.
“Whoa!” I said looking into the counter.
Something gorgeous caught my eye. It was white with silver rhinestones around the edges and it glittered and shined in the light.
“That” I said, “I want that” I said pointing to the object underneath the glass.
“Mr. Dave” Ariel said.
“Yes” he replied walking over to us.
“Do you have anything to match that?” she asked pointing to the shiny object.
“I don’t think so,” he answered.
“But I do” Peyton said with a smile slowly spreading across her face.
“What?” Ariel asked.
“My fifteens dress” she replied.
“Omg that’s right you kept it” Ariel said looking away from the glass.
“Yeah let’s go home and get it before it gets late0 Peyton said as she turned around and headed to the cash register to pay for her costume.
“Okay Um Mr. Dave we’re going to take these costumes and that” Ariel said pointing to the glass.
We paid for the costumes and we quickly headed over to their house. As soon as we got there, Peyton jumped out of the car ran inside and rushed to her closet. Seconds later, she pulled out a huge box from the back that contained the most gorgeous dress ever. It was a white strapless dress. It was a corset at the top with silver stones and it poofed out like a ball gown at the bottom. It was perfect fit. I looked like a princess and I had a crown to go along. The girls quickly got ready as I did too and we left to the party.
“We’re going to go in first. Here’s your pass,” Peyton said as Ariel parked and she handed me a pass.
“Wait I don’t want to go in alone” I said with a worried tone.
“You’re going to have to Is” Ariel said as she put her hand over mine to calm me down.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because you’re cousins are there remember and if they see you walk in with us they’re going to recognize you and know you’re here” Ariel explained. She had a point.
“Okay fine” I agreed.
“Just give it like ten minutes,” Peyton said.
“Okay I’ll see you in there,” I said as they both stepped out of the car and left me alone.
*KEVIN’S POV*
We arrived at the party and we stood by the grand staircase that everyone enters through. We waited there for the girls as everyone walked in. Minutes later I saw Is’ friend walk in and expected Is to come in behind her but she didn’t. Joe walked up to her and took her out to dance. Next to her was another girl she looked very familiar. Nick walked up to her and asked her out to dance. It must have been the girl Nick was talking about. Peyton. I stood there for another five minutes and Is never appeared so I dropped all hopes of her showing up. Her aunt probably didn’t let her come. I turned around and went to get something to drink all alone. I poured myself some punch and decided to go sit outside by the back parking lot. Right when I was about to open the back door something told me turn around. I turned around and there it was. The shiny object I had seen in the glass counter at the costume store was on a girl. She was wearing it with a beautiful white dress. The beautiful mask shined in the spotlight as she walked down the steps. It shined the same way it did at the costume store underneath the glass. For a second I had a feeling it was Is but it couldn’t have been she would’ve entered with her friends. Plus, the girl looked different.
